The Internet Identity Bureau (NetIBA) is an identification database service
who collects and verifies voluntary information on Internet merchants and individuals. Collected information is made available
to various consumer groups, complaint resolution groups (both government and non-government), merchants, and law enforcement
agencies who are affiliated by NetIBA membership.
The Internet can be a fun and cost savings place to shop but today's Internet
is crowded by thieves lurking behind computer screens with only one goal in mind, and that is, ripping you off. Whether it
be non shipment of goods, credit card, or identity theft, they're out there waiting. Individuals who authenticate and validate
their email address with NetIBA are awarded an extra level of protection by downloading NetIBA's CONSUMER PROTECTION TOOL.
The NetIBA Consumer Protection Tool sits quietly in your computers tray (by your pc's clock display) and alerts you as to
whether you are visiting a NetIBA validated website or not. You can also manually search Auction usernames, e-mail addresses,
and website addresses.
